2. Child Protection Shelter
Grant Montgomery Travelogue: Child Protection Shelter in Phnom Penh
Unfortunately, Cambodia is a country where child prostitution and trafficking is rampant.
Among the Family Care Cambodia projects that I visited in Phnom Penh is a Child Protection Shelter that is home to 35 children, mostly girls, between the ages of 5 – 17, who have been rescued from abusive situations or sexual exploitation.
Thanks to a grant from a British donor, this past year we were able to renovate and construct a second story for the shelter that provides 3 additional bedrooms for the children and staff, a classroom, recreation room and toilet facilities.
This also allowed a boost to the educational facilities, including their own computer training lab.
